Spinach and Artichoke Dip Wonton Cups

Yields: 24 cups

Ingredients:

24 wonton wrappers

1 cup spinach, cooked and finely chopped

14 oz can artichoke hearts, drained and chopped

1/2 cup sour cream

1/2 cup cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, divided

2 garlic cloves, minced

Salt and pepper, to taste

Non-stick cooking spray

Directions:

Preheat and Prepare:

Heat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Generously coat a mini muffin tin with non-stick spray to prevent sticking.

Form Wonton Cups:

Place each wonton wrapper into a section of the mini muffin tin. Press them down gently to form cup shapes.

Make the Filling:

In a bowl, mix together the chopped spinach, artichokes, sour cream, cream cheese, Parmesan cheese, half of the mozzarella, minced garlic, and a pinch each of salt and pepper until thoroughly combined.

Assemble:

Distribute the filling evenly among the wonton cups. Top each cup with the remaining mozzarella cheese.

Bake:

Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the wonton wrappers turn golden and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.

Cool and Serve:

Let the cups cool for a few minutes before removing them from the tin. Serve warm for the best flavor.

Tips and Variations:

Add Protein: Consider adding finely chopped cooked chicken or crumbled bacon for extra flavor.

Cheese Variations: Experiment with different cheeses such as pepper jack for a bit of heat.

Make Ahead: Assemble the cups ahead of time and refrigerate; bake just before serving to ensure they are warm and fresh.

Vegetarian Option: Check that your wonton wrappers are egg-free to accommodate vegetarian dietary preferences.

Kid-Friendly Tip: Top with mild cheddar to make these more appealing to children.

These Spinach and Artichoke Dip Wonton Cups are not just a treat to eat but also a joy to make. Enjoy crafting these delightful bites and watch as they disappear from the table!
