Ingredients
  

For the Crust:

  • 1 box refrigerated pie crusts softened
  • Flour for rolling out the dough

For the Filling:

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 9 cups thinly sliced peeled apples (about 9 medium apples)

For the Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
  • Prepare the Crust: Unroll the refrigerated pie crusts and stack them on a lightly floured surface. Roll out the dough to a 17x12-inch rectangle. Fit the crust into a 15x10x1-inch baking pan, pressing it into the corners. Fold the extra crust under the edges and crimp for a decorative finish.
  • Mix the Filling: In a large bowl, combine granulated sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Add lemon juice and mix in the sliced apples until evenly coated.
  • Assemble the Pie: Spread the apple mixture evenly over the crust-lined pan.
  • Bake the Pie: Bake for 33 to 38 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly. Remove from the oven and allow to cool on a wire rack for about 45 minutes.
  • Prepare the Glaze: In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar and milk until smooth. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled pie and let it set for about 30 minutes.
  • Serve and Enjoy: Cut the pie into squares and serve warm or at room temperature, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
