Ingredients

  • 13 graham crackers
  • 1 cup 2 sticks unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups pecan halves roughly chopped
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Line a rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil and lightly grease with butter.
  • Place graham crackers in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, breaking them as needed to fit.
  • In a medium saucepan, combine butter, brown sugar, pecans, and salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture comes to a boil.
  • Allow it to boil for 2 minutes, then remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  • Pour the hot caramel mixture over the graham crackers. Use a spatula to spread evenly, ensuring all crackers are covered and pecans are distributed.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes, until the caramel is bubbly and golden brown.
  • Remove from oven and let cool completely to allow the caramel to set.
  • Once cooled and hardened, break the bark into bite-sized pieces.

Notes

For a spiced variation, add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to the caramel mixture. Store the bark in an airtight container to keep it fresh.
