Ingredients

  • Lil smokies (pork cocktail sausages) 2 (14-ounce cans, like Hillshire Farm)
  • Grape jelly 1 cup (seedless or chunky)
  • Chili sauce 1/2 cup (Heinz chili sauce recommended)
  • Dijon mustard 2 tablespoons (optional)
  • Garlic powder 1 teaspoon (or 2 cloves fresh, minced)
  • Red pepper flakes Pinch (optional)
  • Parsley Fresh, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Whisk grape jelly, chili sauce, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes in a bowl until glossy.
  • Place Lil smokies in a slow cooker or saucepan, pour sauce over them, and stir to coat.
  • Cook in slow cooker on low for 2 hours or high for 1 hour, stirring halfway. For stovetop, gently simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes.
  • Ensure sauce clings to smokies. Adjust heat if needed.
  • Transfer to a serving dish, sprinkle with chopped parsley, and serve warm or at room temperature with cocktail picks.

Notes

Stir every 5 minutes to prevent sticking. Add a splash of water if sauce separates. For extra gloss, use a cornstarch slurry. Let the mixture rest off-heat for 10 minutes.
