Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Unsalted butter softened to room temperature
  • 4 large Garlic cloves finely minced
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh parsley finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh chives thinly sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon Sea salt adjust if using salted butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black pepper freshly ground
  • Zest of half a lemon
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped fresh chives or green onions optional, for garnish

Instructions
 

  • In a medium bowl, place softened butter. Add minced garlic and stir until fully incorporated.
  • Add parsley, chives (if using), salt, and pepper. Gently fold to evenly distribute.
  • Grate lemon zest over the butter and fold again.
  • Adjust seasoning to taste.
  • Scoop butter onto a sheet of plastic wrap and shape into a log. Chill before serving.
  • Refrigerate for at least one hour to marry flavors.
  • Slice and use on bread, vegetables, or hot dishes.
  • Store in a clean container and label with the date made.

Notes

My first batch turned out too garlicky—minced extra-fine and let flavors mellow overnight. Silicone spatulas are lifesavers for scraping every bit.
