Ingredients

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 1 box fudge brownie mix
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 1/4 cup water
  • 1 cup oil
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate morsels

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and thoroughly coat a bundt pan with baker’s spray or butter and flour to prevent sticking.
  • In a large mixing bowl, sift together the chocolate cake mix and fudge brownie mix to remove lumps and ensure a smooth batter.
  • Add the eggs, water, and oil to the dry mixture. Mix with a whisk for about 2 minutes until the batter is smooth.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan, spreading it evenly. Bake for 50-55 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick or cake tester.
  • Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 5 minutes. Turn out onto a cooling rack and cool completely for at least 30 minutes.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, heat the heavy whipping cream for about 2 minutes until it just begins to boil.
  • Add the semi-sweet chocolate morsels to the hot cream and let it sit for 5 minutes. Whisk until the ganache is shiny and smooth.
  • Once the cake is completely cooled, pour the ganache over the top, using a spatula to spread it evenly if needed.

Notes

For a more intense chocolate flavor, use dark chocolate morsels in the ganache.
