Ingredients
  

  • 2 bunches asparagus trimmed
  • 1 tablespoon butter melted
  • 0.5 ounce cream cheese softened
  • 0.5 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tablespoon chicken broth
  • 0.25 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon paprika
  • 0.125 teaspoon salt
  • 0.125 teaspoon pepper
  • 0.33 cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • 0.125 cup pepper jack cheese grated
  • 0.5 cup mozzarella cheese grated
  • 0.5 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 0.33 cup bacon cooked and crumbled

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Wash and trim the asparagus, then arrange in a greased 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
  • In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add cream cheese and stir until melted. Add heavy cream, chicken broth, and seasonings. Simmer until thickened. Stir in Parmesan and pepper jack cheese until melted and smooth.
  • Pour the cheese sauce over the asparagus. Top with mozzarella cheese and red pepper flakes.
  • Bake for 15 minutes. Remove, add crumbled bacon, and bake for an additional 3 minutes.
  • Let the casserole sit for a few minutes, then serve warm.

Notes

For a spicier kick, increase red pepper flakes to 1 teaspoon. This dish pairs well with grilled chicken or roasted meats.
