Bacon Cheeseburger Tater Tot Casserole
Warm, cheesy, and loaded with smoky bacon, this Bacon Cheeseburger Tater Tot Casserole feels like a drive-thru favorite—only better. You’ll fall in love with every forkful of ground beef, golden tots, and gooey cheddar cheese.
Ingredients
- 1.5 pounds ground beef 80/20 lean-to-fat ratio
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 small yellow onion finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 14.5 oz diced tomatoes drained
- 2 cups frozen tater tots
- 6 strips bacon cooked and crumbled
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 green onions thinly sliced, for garnish
Instructions
- Set your oven to 375°F and grab a 9×13-inch baking dish; spray with nonstick cooking spray.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add ground beef, salt, and pepper. Cook until no pink remains (about 6 minutes).
- Cook chopped onion and garlic until softened. Stir in Worcestershire and tomatoes, then simmer.
- Spread the meat mixture in the baking dish. Top with tater tots in neat rows.
- Sprinkle crumbled bacon over the tots, then scatter shredded cheddar cheese.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, until tots are crisp and cheese bubbles.
- Top with green onions, let rest, and then scoop into bowls.
