Ingredients

  • 6-8 pieces chicken thighs, drumsticks, or breasts, cleaned
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 1/2 cups water

Instructions

Season and Coat the Chicken:

  • In a shallow bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Dredge each piece of chicken in the seasoned flour mixture, shaking off excess.

Prepare the Baking Dish:

  • Lightly grease a baking dish with butter or oil, then sprinkle a little seasoned flour over the surface. Arrange the chicken pieces in the dish, skin side up.

Mix the Cream and Water:

  • In a bowl, stir together the heavy whipping cream and water. Pour the mixture over the chicken, covering all pieces.

Bake the Chicken:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the chicken for 1 1/2 hours, until golden brown and cooked through. The gravy should be thick and bubbling.

Serve:

  • Let the dish cool for a few minutes. Serve the chicken with gravy, alongside your choice of sides.

Notes

Add herbs, spices, or vegetables to customize the dish, or use chicken broth for a deeper gravy flavor.
