Ingredients

  • 1 can peaches large, in juice or syrup (or use 2 smaller cans)
  • 1 bag yellow cake mix
  • 1 stick butter melted or cubed

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Pour canned peaches and their juice into a 9×13-inch baking dish. Spread evenly across the bottom.
  • Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the peaches. Do not stir or press down.
  • Melt the butter and drizzle it evenly over the dry cake mix. Alternatively, dot the surface with small cubes of butter.
  • Bake for 30 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly. Watch closely toward the end of baking time.
  • Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, if desired.

Notes

Feel free to customize this cobbler with canned cherries, pineapples, or berries. A sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg over the cake mix adds extra warmth. To make it gluten- or dairy-free, just swap in appropriate cake mix and butter substitutes.
