Perfect Corn Casserole

5 Ingredient Corn Casserole in the oven in less than five minutes less than food delivery, it’s the perfect side dish for the holidays with almost no effort at all!

5 Ingredient Corn Casserole is one of my favorite things about winter time, sitting down together as a family around the dinner table with a hot home-cooked meal. It’s this time of year when we like to pull out all of the classic family recipes such as meatloaf, baked chicken, Mexican soups….good, simple comfort food.

It is amazingly good, with an absolutely delicious taste and not only is this Perfect Corn Casserole dish so wonderful on the taste buds, it’s easy to put together. It literally takes only 5 ingredients to put it together (okay 6 ingredients, counting the sour cream. But we’re still calling it the five (5) Ingredient Corn Casserole). These ingredients are things you can find in your decent household kitchen (e.g. the two (2) eggs), and things you can easily get from the nearest grocery stores (e.g. the Jiffy Cornbread Mix, corn cream, whole kernel corn and maybe even one stick of butter.)

Is corn casserole the same thing as Corn Pudding?
I’ve realized since we shared this recipe that many people call this corn pudding. My husband loves pudding so he’s totally on board with this. This recipe does have an almost creamy texture from the cream corn, butter and sour cream.

Call it either…corn casserole or corn pudding. It’s basically the same thing. We do have a recipe that we call “corn pudding”. It has more of a custard base than this recipe.

How to Make Corn Casserole with Jiffy Mix
In order to make this rich, buttery casserole, there are only 2 steps:

Throw all of those ingredients in a bowl and mix them up.
Transfer the mixture to a greased 8×8 baking pan and bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes. The exact baking time will depend on the exact size pan you use, so just be sure to watch the casserole closely. You’ll know it is done when the center is completely set.
To make this recipe you’ll need the following ingredients:

INGREDIENTS :

1 box Jiffy cornbread mix
1 can cream corn
1 can whole kernel corn drained
2 eggs
1 stick butter melted
1 Cup Sour cream
One important thing to note is that this Perfect Corn Casserole recipe is only good for about 6-8 servings. If you’re looking to feed more mouths and make more servings at a time (or the complete opposite), you’re going to have to tweak the recipe a bit. This is easy but it’s a lot more complicated than simply opening up another can of cream corn and adding it to the mix. Every single one of the ingredients on the recipe has to be increased (or decreased) proportionately in order to fit your requirements.

Again, this is easy to do but we know how tricky things can get in the kitchen, especially with a new recipe. If you need any assistance in tweaking this Perfect Corn Casserole recipe, feel free to consult us by leaving a message in the comments section of this page. We’ll be sure to get back to you.

EQUIPMENTS:

You don’t need a lot to make this Perfect Corn Casserole recipe by way of equipment. All you’ll need are:

An oven
(Preferably one that is temperature controlled)

A mixer
(Preferably an automated one, although, there isn’t much mixing to be done in the course of this Perfect Corn Casserole recipe. A mixer does make the mixing go a lot more smoothly, easier and faster.)

One 8×8 baking pan
For the sake of being thorough we’ll go right ahead and add the following:

A large bowl (for mixing the ingredients together.)
Smaller bowls (where you’ll put your ingredients)
Spoons (somehow, they always find their way into the dishwasher after every cooking exercise.)

INSTRUCTIONS :

Before we get into the instructions for our recipes, we like to give a little recommendation. The first instruction (unofficial and completely optional) is for you to clear and clean up your cooking/baking area. We’re talking about your counter tops and every other surface that you might cook and bake on, within the sacred space that is your kitchen. Not only is this good for hygiene but it will create space for you to arrange your ingredients into tiny little bowls, like they do on TV. Another thing is the free range of movement this fine recommendation afford you within the four walls of your own kitchen.

So, free up that space, clear out the clutter and get comfortable. Turn on some music if you like. Take in a deep breath and let’s begin!

Bring out your ingredients
(You can measure them and arrange the required quantities into individual bowls. Do NOT mix them all together until the recipe tells you to. The reason being, there is ALWAYS a technique to this.)

Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl adding the sour cream last. (And right there is the technique. Mixing should be done until the mixture is as smooth as possible.)
Grease the 8×8 baking pan/ casserole and pour the mixture into it. (Greasing is done in order to prevent bits of the Perfect Corn Casserole from sticking to the baking pan. That would not be good not just for clean up but because it would be difficult to get as much as the casserole out of the pan as possible.)
Bake in 350 oven for 45 minutes.
Serve, dig in and enjoy!
(Don’t forget that the recipe is only for 6-8 servings!)
